The following pictures documents a clean up and an illegal dumpsite closure project held in Dagoretti, Nairobi, as part of #WorldEnvironmentDay2021 events. Clean Up Kenya partnered with NAREC, Nairobi Metropolitan Services, and other partners in this project. This follows Clean Up Kenya and NAREC spirited highlighting of the dumpsite issue on social media over several months calling for authorities interventions. Nairobi Metropolitan Services has indicated there are over 1000 such illegal dumpsites around Nairobi. Clean Up Kenya will continue to highlight these dumps and where possible collaborate with others for closure.
