The following pictures documents a clean up and tree planting event held in Langata, Nairobi, as part of #EarthDay2021 events. This project was held in partnership with Project Clean-Up Langata. In 2019, together with several residents of the local community we launched Project Clean-Up Langata and continue to provide technical and capacity building support to this initiative. Several organizations from the wider Nairobi participated in the project including Kenya Girl Guides under the leadership of  Winnie Mwai. Other participating organizations included Nairobi City County (Agriculture Department), Amua Langata Youth Group, Mazingira Initiative, Atlas FC, YMCA South B, as well as residents from Royal Park 1 & 2, Ngei 1 Estate, Otiende, and Kijiji and Soweto informal settlements.
